The Cn Tower

Reaching 553 maters into the sky the CN Tower has been a favorite destination and landmark for tourists and locals alike since its completion in 1975. The ‘CN” stands for the builders of this magnificent monster, the Canadian National railway and communications company. Today it is owned by Canada Lands Company along with a number of other real estate properties. The Tower’s primary function is communication, transmitting radio and television signals.

The Tower has a unique beauty and it is a proud landmark. And not only is it a wonder to see, but it provides an astounding view. People from all over the world have taken the 58-second journey in the glass-faces elevators up to the Sky Pod for a 360-degree view of Toronto and beyond. The Sky Pod is the world highest observation gallery at 447 meters. From here on a clear day visitors can see 120 kilometers. An evening view is equally stunning with a multitude of city lights between the blackness of Lake Ontario and the night sky.

There have been many additions and renovations at the famous Tower over the years. Among the most popular is the glass floor. Located on the outdoor Observation Level this transparent flooring, 342 meters from the ground, offers a perspective that is only enjoyed by the very brave.

Aside from its many features and world records the CN Tower serves as a compass point for all those in and approaching Toronto. It is a magnificent and familiar southern point and one that is internatio
