Cancer and Child Abuse

I know, I know, you're probably wondering, what does Cancer have to do with child abuse? Plenty. Now I don't prove to be a psychologist or anything of sorts, but one thing I can share with you from my own experience is that old wounds don't always heal. When you are a child, physical and mental abuse can have a lifelong effect or one's psyche.

For those of you who have experienced any kind of child abuse or neglect, you can relate to this article. When painful experiences happen to you as a child, you're kinda left holding the bag. You grow up, you do all the things that society requires of you. You get the diploma, job, money, success, but you're still hurting. You still haven't healed from yesterday's old wounds.

Now you're wondering how you're going to fill this empty void. Next comes the poor eating habits, alcohol, drugs, sex, verbal disputes, and violence. Your job suffers, you find it hard to get along with others, poor parenting skills, and then cancer. Too much weighing heavy on the mind and heart? I would say so.

See what doctors don't tell you is that cancer has many components, just like our physical body. Cancer stems not only from one thing, but from many. Cancer is not only a physical disease, but a psychological one too, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. When it comes to having cancer, focus not only on the physical part, but also the psychological part as well. Take care and stay well!
