Diabetic Medicare Patients and Stress - How to Reduce Stress in Your Life

Stress is well known to aggravate many diseases. It makes heart conditions worse, it causes headaches and migraines, and it disrupts sleep. While there is no concrete link between stress and diabetes yet, it is always good to protect your health. Here are some easy-to-follow suggestions for how to reduce your stress.

Exercise.

As a diabetic Medicare patient, not only will exercise help reduce your stress, it will also help you to control your diabetes. Exercise is magic. There is no doubt about it. It reduces weight, helps control diabetes, makes you feel better, and reduces disease of all kinds.

Now you don't have to run a marathon. In fact, you don't really even need to break a sweat to get the benefits of exercise. 20 minutes of moderate physical activity a day is all it really takes. Walking is my favorite, because it's easy and it's free. You can even break up your walking into 10 minute increments, if that is easier for you.

The point here is to get your body moving. You will feel better and your stress will decrease.

Breathing.

Deep breathing exercises are easy to learn and one of the most effective ways to handle stress in your life. When you're practicing deep breathing exercises, you want to breathe in so that your stomach expands and exhale completely.

When I am dealing with times of great stress in my life I use deep breathing exercises. I count to 10 as I'm breathing and b

eathe into the number one and breathe out to the number two. I keep going until I reach the number 10. The point of this is to concentrate on your brass and the numbers instead of what's going on in your life. It takes a little bit of practice, but you'll find that when you use this technique you will feel more at peace and much less stressed.

I believe that it is important for every diabetic Medicare patient to practice stress management. Your life will be better for it.
