Drug Addiction : Causes And Remedies

In recent times the evil of drug addiction is increasing by leaps and bounds. It is wide spread in the hostels and campuses of the universities and technical institutions of the country. Charas, ganja and brown sugar are in great demand and are purchased at a exorbitant prices.

Drug addiction is an acute problem which has defied all efforts at its solution so far.The drug addict cannot do without the drug even for a short while and the habit goes on increasing and soon the addict find himself a helpless victim of this habit. The person is exploited in various ways by their so called friends or sellers of these vicious drugs.

Taking of the drug is great evil. A number of causes are responsible for this evil.In many homes where parents are very busy in their business and other activities then the growing child do not get love,care and attention which they need at this tender age.In other cases the husband and the wives are not good term with each other.They often quarrels and life in the home becomes most unhappy and unpleasant.The result is that the young guys in such homes feels lonely and neglected. They go astray deprived of parental love and care.

Then their friends and others who are most close to them who are themselves drug addict, mislead them and induce them to have drugs. And then drug sellers fully exploit them.

Then their starts the down fall of the person. The drug addict quarrels with their parents and other members of their family so much that life in the h

me becomes hell. Often the evil results in suicide and the ruin of the whole family.

Total eradication of this evil is the urgent need of time. The press.the radio, the television, the cinema and the public platform can give their service to uproot the evil.

The parents who are very busy and thinks that their responsibilities ends with only financially supporting, the children by providing them the money for their needs, they must realize that children at tender age do need their care and attention.They should behave with them very friendly and give them their most love.The youth must be made to realize that ' the friends' who initiate them into this evil practice are not their friends but their enemies.

The steps must be taken against the smugglers who smuggles these drugs into the country and make huge profits by selling to the unlucky http:// victims. Government should be fully alive in eradicating this social evil. Change in social attitudes is also essential for successfully taking the problem.

The drug addicts need sympathy and an understanding of their problem.
