Hemorrhoid Removal - Don't Blush, Visit Doc For Early Hemorrhoid Removal

Hemorrhoids are mostly affecting people in developed countries who are in age profile of 50 years and beyond. Many techniques and methods are available today which can cure hemorrhoids and combined with healthy lifestyle, one can keep this ailment at bay. There are basically two types of hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids and internal hemorrhoids.

Internal hemorrhoids occur when there is too much pressure on the internal haemorrhoidal veins. The symptoms are frequently appearing dark red blood on toilet seats or on stools. Generally the internal hemorrhoids are not painful. Small and somewhat large hemorrhoids are treated by non surgical and home treatments. But for large hemorrhoids, surgery is must.

External hemorrhoids are those that occur outside of the anal verge (the distal end of the anal canal). They are painful and can be accompanied by swelling and irritation. Itching is predominantly synonymous with external hemorrhoid alone.

Common hemorrhoid removal techniques.

• Rubber band ligation. This is the most commonly used procedure to remove external hemorrhoids. An elastic rubber band is placed around the base of the hemorrhoid inside the rectum. This band cuts off blood circulation and the hemorrhoid shrinks and withers away. The process involves 3 to 4 sittings spread over 6 to 8 weeks. This is unarguable the cheapest hemorrhoidal method available.

• Sclerotherapy. In this process a chemical solution is injected around the affec

ed hemorrhoid to result in their withering.

• Laser or infrared coagulation. In this procedure a special device, laser probe is used to initiate chemical reaction leading to burning followed by withering of haemorrhoidal tissue.

• Haemorrhoidectomy. In case of large protruding hemorrhoids that persistently return despite following rubber band ligation, a patient does not have any other option but to resort to surgical technique. This is undoubtedly the last resort. If a person has been recommended surgical procedure then that means all other options have been exhausted. A person who has been through the surgical procedure needs to follow it up with post operative cure and a self commitment to adopt a healthy life style and follow strict regimen.

• Staples. An improvised version of traditional haemorrhoidectomy is called stapled hemorrhoidopexy.

• Advanced laser therapy. In this procedure laser beam is pin pointed on to the affected external hemorrhoid with very high accuracy and hemorrhoid is excised.

Two types of laser beams broad and narrow are used to deal with large or small external hemorrhoids, respectively. This procedure is quite expensive and is expected to be undertaken by trained surgeons only. The advantage with this procedure is faster recovery as healing is quite fast because of pin pointed accuracy of the procedure.

With so many method and techniques available to deal with problem of hemorrhoid removal, the decision has to be left to the medical practitioner alone. However, person should be informed and needs to deal with the whole issue with lots of maturity.
